Ammonium Polyphosphate

Ammonium Polyphosphate is commercially made by Clariant. This is an inorganic salt of ammonia and polyphosphoric acid, which contains both chains and possibly branching. The properties of this chemical is based on the number of monomers in every molecule and to the extent on how frequently it branches. It can be made via the reaction between ammonia and concentrated phosphoric acid. Used as an emulsifier, food additive and as a fertilizer, Ammonium Polyphosphate (APP) is also utilized as a flame retardant in various applications such as coatings, paints and assortment of polymers. This is a halogen-free flame retardant or environment-friendly element, which also comes with engineering plastics.
